Western Australia Another long drive to Eucla, over 8 hours again. On the way we saw a poor specimen of a dingo at one of the petrol stops. It must have wondered in from the desert - wild dingos live around this area. It was emaciated, ribs sticking out, tail between its legs, the poor thing looked starving.
Fuel and gas are extremely expensive crossing the Nullabor.

The countryside along the Great Australian Bight was ever changing and included - salt bush, eucalyptus trees, small rocky hills, and a short glimpse of the sea. There were also some interesting road signs.

When we got to the border, everyone has to stop at the Quarantine Post. It is against the law to take any fresh fruit, vegetables, honey and plants (including bird seed! ) across the border into W.A. They had confiscated lots of honey that day.

Had eaten all our fruit and cooked up all leftover veges. But we did not even think about Billy - our budgie and his seed food. So we had to hose out his cage and leave all his seed food behind. Broke the monotony of the trip for us if nothing else, but Billy was not impressed.
Stayed at Eucla that night. Had sweeping views down to the sea from the caravan park. To Caiguna tomorrow.
