Our 5Th Wheel RV Caravan Travels Continue - South WA
Walpole. Lovely day. Going to visit The Valley of The Giants - and Tree Top Walk today. This is situated in the Walpole-Noralup National Park - a bit further on from Walpole. Headed off with Snowy and a picnic on the back seat.
walkway through the forest canopy
It took about an hour and a half to get there. We stopped off in town to have a pot of tea and a yummy cake at the Bakery. Took Snowy for a walk to stretch her legs then off again.
We parked in a cool shady spot - not hard in this giant forest - left a cool drink and some nibbles for Snowy and bought our tickets.
this tingle tree was right in front of where we parked
Once through the gate, we made our way up and up into the canopy of the forest along the walkway. The walkway was fantastic fun - it was a metal structure that bounced up and down as we walked between the solid viewing platforms.
If you didn't hold on to the sides of the walkway, it felt as though you were bouncing along, not walking on solid footing. This was fun!
the walkway surrounded by tree tops
We could see right down to the ground through the floor of the walkway - this was a little off-putting to start with.
