Tuncurry - Forster

DAY 43 Thursday 1 March 07

Bulahdelah-Tuncurry. First day of March already! Left Bulahdelah about 9.30 - early for us and headed down the highway to Tuncurry.

A few caravans on the road today. The scenery on the way was beautiful and again still cant help thinking about how dry and dusty it had been inland.

Arrived at caravan park and 1st stop - the dump point - all tanks full. Managed that ok, had to reverse back out of the dump point - ok, was just straight back.

The guy took us down to the river to a really nice spot, so we started to de-hitch and he came back down and said he had made a mistake, a group was coming down and had booked the whole area where we were!!

So took us to a few other sites to look at and we chose a really nice spot, good flat ground and lots of lovely grass, away from everything.

This caravan park has a very busy boat ramp. There were so many small boats coming in and out. It looked like a fun place to go boating with the family. At the end of the day, there was a constant line of boats and families heading home.

Talking about boats, check out this great site for Propellers

Unfortunately on the way, I almost took out a big sign and a stupid looken roundabout made with tyres!!!

If that wasn't enough, I then nearly ran into the roof of a cabin with the caravan turning into a tight section of road.

Tone was sitting next to me rolling his eyes!! Thank goodness we didn't buy a bigger 5th wheeler - would not have got in.

We were parked on a sloping site in Bulahdela, and now the slide out will not come in with out giving it a little bum shove from the outside to start it off - goes in easily after that.

Drove over the bridge to Forster to have a look - usual seaside tourist place, lots of cramped high rise appartments, hotels etc.

Apparently has some nice beaches - will have to find them. Also spotted a fish co-op and a fish shop, so should be able to get a nice feed of fresh local fish. Hanging out for some prawns, squid and scollops. Mmmmm Fresh Australian seafood.

Started to rain when we got back, poured acually, lots of thunder and lightning. Rained all night.
