21. - Clairview Beach Caravan Park ♥ - CLAIRVIEW - QLD Nice little caravan park, on the beach, friendly people and lots of space.
WARNING! - If you are thinking of coming here and have a big rig - DON'T DRIVE IN LIKE WE AND OTHERS DID! - There are some very tight corners and big rigs need to use a seperate entrance further up the road. Tone had to back up and turn around, back to the main road again.
We un-hitched on a good spot next to a fragrant frangipani tree. Green grass everywhere, lots of lovely exotic tropical trees, plants and gum trees. Good amenities. Little semi-outdoor restraunt and bar. Bore water was used here for everything except drinking, it was very brackish. Rain water was available for drinking. We had a good stay here.

22. - Flametree Tourist Village ♥ - AIRLIE BEACH - QLD This was the most beautiful caravan park. It was like camping in a tropical rain forest. It was covered in exotic tropical and Australian native trees and bushes. Including huge native fig trees, with the little figs growing straight out of the trunk in bunches, just like grapes. There were little crystal clear creeks running through the park too. And the beautiful bright orange flowered flame trees that grow around this area looked magnificent against the blue sky.

Nestled at the bottom of a huge heavily treed hill. Birdlife was prolific here, bush turkeys, curlews, kookaburras, you name it! Great amenities, full facilities and beautiful swimming pool surrounded by huge tropical palm trees. Drive through sites, dump point. Short drive to the beautiful Shute Harbor. We loved it here.
