Port Douglas Beaches. On the way back, stopped off at a Rex Lookout. Here we could see the full length of Ellis Beach. The view was spectacular.

Turning off the highway we drove in to Palm Cove and then further down to Trinity Beach.
Palm Cove was a very crowded, touristy, high-rise apartment, resort place. Nice beach, but a bit of a hassle to get to, through traffic and people walking everywhere - quite dangerous really. Lots of outside eating areas - all crowded and full.
Now. Trinity Beach was really nice. Not as crowded or built in. The beach was lovely, coarse yellow sand. From the beach, the scenery was fantastic. Green Island and another smaller one were quite close to the mainland. Could see the white sanded beach on the main island.

Palm trees and other native tropical foliage flanked the beach. It was really beautiful.
On the way home, we stopped at the local fisho and bought some local prawns and whiting. Also got some fresh local fruit from a road side stall.
A sweet smelling pineapple, a red paw paw and some little bananas. We were all set up for a yummy Australian seafood dinner. With a Queensland tropical fruit salad for pudd. Mmmmmmm.
