Noosa -> Inland. Lovely sunny day, and we decided to to exploring over to The Sunshine Coast from Gympie
We drove through Coondoo, past Mt Wolvi to Kin Kin and Pomona.
At Pomona we saw The Majestic Theatre that is supposed to be the oldest silent movie theatre in the world! We couldn't go inside because it was being renovated and painted. Then on to Lake MacDonald, and Tewantin.
The scenery was beautiful, rolling mountains, dense forrests and lush green grazing land with lots of fat black Aberdeen Angus beef cows. Also macadamia and some banana plantations.
Everywhere we looked, we were surrounded by hills and mountains, forests and fertile valleys. We came across little towns and beautiful houses.
Queensland houses are different to those in other states. Made predominantly of wood, with shady cool verandahs and louver windows to let the breeze in. They are also on stilts, I guess that helps keep the house cool with the air circulating underneath the floorboards too.
On the way, we went up to Salmon Lookout - Wow! You should have seen the road up the mountain!!!
It was very narrow gravel road with a very, very long sheer, drop down on one side, with no safety barriers. It was like a rollercoaster ride, extremely high climb with elbow turns and very steep descent - it was great fun - I was driving - Tone had white knuckles! Just joking!!
Once we got up to the top, the view was beautiful and the air was clear and fresh. We passed cows along the way and had to stop to open and close a gate.
Snowy loves cows, she sits up really straight on her bottom with her paws up, to see out the window when we say "cows Snowy!"
She looks like a meercat when she sits up like that, so cute is our li'l Fluff.
