Narrogin 2 - Wagin - Historical Village - Wagin WA.
Only 30 mins drive from Narrogin, is the little town of Wagin. The local landmark is the giant ram, situated in a pretty park with Australian Native trees, lake and fountain. This is a nice spot, we had our picnic here.
There are three old Pubs in this little country town. The Palace Hotel built in 1905, The old Federal Hotel c1895 and Wagin Hotel - see pic above. The Wagin c1880, was the first hotel in the area - rebuilt 1900.
The Palace Hotel was in good condition and had the original lace wrought iron work and some of the stained glass windows. A visit to the Historical Villiage is a must. Situated in the Show Grounds, it is a collection of replica buildings, and some original ones, memorabilia, old vehicles, machinery, every day items, photos and information depicting the daily life of the local pioneers. It is true to the time in Australian History and meticulously maintained. Photos of the town and Villiage are on the next pages.
