Mendooran
DAY 35 Thursday 22 Feb Leaving Forbes - To free park near Dunnedoo - Mendooran. Phoned Mum for her birthday, sent her a cute handmade cloth hen with 'old boiler' written on it! Ma recons she felt like an old boiler that day!- Was very hot and humid in Ulladulla. Got to free parking area early afternoon. Nice campsite by the river, green with shady trees. Free camping is good fun. Was very hot when we got there, so we put out the awning. Sat outside in our cumfy chairs waiting for a breeze to come up, and sipped our gin and tonics - very refreshing it was too!
DAY 36 Friday 23 Feb
Nice day today, drove to Dunnedoo to have a look and bought some postcards. Then to Dubbo to get some gas for the car and back again. Was really hot when we got back, and put out the awning and all of a sudden a huge storm came up out of nowhere. The wind whipped up under the van and into our face as we tried to get the awning back down - I got a gob full of red dirt and had gritty teeth. Snowy was madly running around in circles wondering what was happening and I couldn't catch her. As I was trying to catch Snowy to get her into the van, I felt like Dorothy Gale - " Toto, Toto, come back, the tornado is coming!" No sooner got the awning down and it started to rain very heavily and did so for about an hour and then suddenly stopped. IN THIS SECTION - Forbes part 2 Part 3
