Melbourne Diary 7Melbourne. Only 5 weeks to Xmas. Noticed that the outside decorations have been put up in the shopping streets by the Local Councils. I love this time of year. Summer is almost here, Melbourne is warming up at last. The street decorations are shimmering in the sunshine against the bright blue sky.
Australian summer sure is a lot different to what some of you experience in the Northern Hemisphere. It is great to see that people are reading our 5th Wheel Travel adventures from over 22 countries. Thankyou, and I hope you are enjoying them. The blackbird was singing at 5 this morning. Both parents have been busy catching worms all morning. Can see the worms still wriggling in their beaks.
The growing birds are completely covered with speckled dark and light gray feathers. There wont be any room in the nest soon. They are nearly 3 weeks old. Managed to get a pic of mother bird feeding today - see pic above. They have been stretching their wings often too, something they haven't done much until now.
