Sitting on nest every day now - between the 23rd and 26th - laid 2 new green eggs. Poor ol' Burnie Banton died last night from asbestos related illnesses. He will be remembered for being an Aussie Battler who tireless worked to help asbestos victims gain recognition and compensation for their families. Blackbirds; father bird not around like he was with the first batch of eggs. He seems to be concentrating on training up the two older birds. They are flying around better now and starting pull up their own worms to feed themselves. Now 6weeks old. Snowy sits at the glass door and watches them for ages, tilting her head from side to side, as the little birds hop around the yard.
Mother bird was sitting on the nest today all day. Im sure she is laying an egg: she looks like she is straining, squeezing her eyes closed and has her beak open. She looks uncomfortable poor thing. Sure enough, there is a new egg in the nest this afternoon, making 3 in total.
