weird looking rock formations along the coastal cliffs
Day 410 Tuesday 5 March continued
Manjimup. There were many unusual rock formations and high rugged cliffs along this section of coast line. The cliffs looked as though someone had been chiseling lines across them. Large sections had broken off and landed in the water.
windy harbour beach - cathedral rock - can see the link seaweed
The beach at Windy Harbour was clogged with tons of brown bubble-link seaweed. The water gurgled and bubbled as the waves broke over and through the thick blanket of seaweed onto the beach. You can see the seaweed on the pic above.
the cliff looked like it had been chiseled away
We visited Cathedral Rock, Windy Harbour, Point D'Entrecasteaux, Tookalup and Salmon Beach, all in tiny little section of the Southern West Australian Coast.
There were also small flat, sandy islands dotted about, just off the shoreline in the very rough Southern Ocean.
pretty coastal flowers along the roadside
The flowers were a joy to look at again on the way back. They were swaying in the strong wind and from the distance, they made a colorful blurred haze against the dark green foliage.
the rock that popped out from nowhere lol
As we turned a corner, we had a surprise! There was this huge rock - Mount Chudalup - jutting out of the scrub in the middle of nowhere; it looked quite odd really. We didn't see it on the way there, must have been looking the other way.
We also stopped at a fruit farm on the way home and bought some beautiful freshly picked white nectarines, green and red plums and blueberries. Mmmmmmmmmm they were good.
