Gympie / Glass House Mountains: Then down to Maleny where we had our picnic. We had all local produce for our lunch, the cheese from Kenilworth, macadamia nuts and kiwi fruit from the roadside stalls.
Then wound our way up, up up, to Mc Carthys Lookout. Wow the view there was spectacular. Could see the Glass House Mountains in the distance; took picies.

The Mountains were really unusual, jutting out of the ground in different shapes, looking very out of place.
They were pushed up millions of years ago by a volcano eruption.
There was one that looked just like a huge King Kong sitting with his back to us. Can see the back of his head - slightly turned to the left and top of both shoulders and back. Have a look at the photo and see what you think.

To Landsborough and the Glass House Mountain Scenic Drive.
Along the way, we saw pineapples and pawpaws growing, macadamia and avacado trees.
We did our fruit shopping as we came accross the little signs on the roadside - ie macadamia nuts for sale.
There were little unmanned stands on the side of the road where you paid with the 'honour system'.
This system means that you are expected to put your money for your purchase into a special box with a lock on it.
We came home loaded up with a pineapple, bag of kiwi fruit, persimons, and avacados. Also macadamia nuts and a pawpaw. All from the farms we passed on our trip.
Some pineapples were growing on the side of the road and were sprayed around the perimeter with white paint so hopefully people wouldn't nick em - see below.
