Gold Country - Victoria - Australia. These days, most of the old buildings in Bendigo remain and have been restored to their former beauty.
you can see some old buildings behind the tram
A tram line runs down the main street and there were a couple of green tourist trams adorned with scenes of Bendigo. They sounded really good with their bells ding dinging as they moved off.
clock tower
Then when the huge clock in the tower started chiming on the hour, I could also hear distant church bells ringing; it reminded me of Rome. There were always church bells ringing there. It was a lovely sound.
ornate dragons
European trees were planted and they made a great effort to re-create their beloved homeland - England. It really does feel like England walking around the streets of Bendigo.

The beautiful parks, statues, lakes, historic greeenhouse, and rotundas. The big, elegant Victorian homes with old English gardens, and pretty town cottages.
