Gold Country - Victoria Australia. As we neared Daylesford, we visited one of the natural Mineral Springs at a little place called Eganstown.
These springs were all around this area. Stopping at the Deep Spring pumping station, we walked down a steep hill.
pump house
At the bottom, accross a bridge, was an old weatherboard building housing the pump. Down some steps, a tap where the spring water was flowing into the stream.
spring tap
The bridge was really attractive, and was constructed with huge tree trunks under the walkway structure.
The stream was at the bottom of a very steep hill, surrounded by big gum trees, and very green undergrowth.
mineral water stream
The water coming out of the pump was clear, but the stream was revolting. There were all sorts of horrible mucky things growing in it.
These mucky growths were a hideous orange color and there was creamy green frothy slime sitting on top of the stream. Didn’t look too healthy to me. Snowy would not go anywhere near it.
analyses of the spring water
Snowy enjoyed this walk; she strutted down the hill and sniffed every inch, then did exactly the same back up the hill again.
