Finley NSW Australia

DAY 13 Monday 29 January.

From Koonoomoo to Finley. Packed up and ready to go. Got up early, friends called in to say goodbye on their way to work.

Went into town to get a wheel brace and some wheel chocks before heading off.

Also went along dirt road to see MYWEE - a real place! - if you don't believe me, click on koonoomoo and see it on the map - but too far away. We thought it was just up the road, but it was just out of Euchuka!!

Drove to Finley, and emptied the black and grey water tanks - the new hose worked well, but needs better connection to outlet. The dump point was at the old railway station, very easy to use and manouver to.Lucky we didn't get a huge long caravan - wouldn't have been able to get into most of the places so far.

Arrived at caravan park - nice place - on the lake. Lots of trees to park under and plenty of space. Only $18 night with our CMCA membership. The lake was beautiful, with a walking path all around it. The water lapped right up to the bank, very close to the walking track.

It also had a lovely island in the middle, with bbq and pergola - lots of people skiing on lake and guess thats how one gets to the island- by boat.

Had bacon, eggs and tomatoes for dinner tonight, and lovely fresh local fruit. The yellow clingstone peaches and white nectarines are my fav, so full of aroma, flavour and so juicey.

I remember when I was a kid, all the houses had big old fruit trees in the backyard. Anyway, in my my friend's backyard, there was a huge clingstone peach tree with thick branches, it must have been very old.We used to sit up on the branches and eat fat juicy peaches just like these, warm and fragrant from the sun.

The caravan parks were full of seasonal fruit pickers. They rent vans and cabins during the fruit season.

The caravan park manager gave us a big bag of fruit - that was very nice of him.
