Aboriginal Site

DAY 199 Tuesday 7 August continued.

Cobar. When we got there, parked the car and walked up the gravel road and followed the arrows to the caves through the rocky bush track.

It was incredibly beautiful here, birds singing, sun shining, the leaves on the trees rustling in the breeze.

We had a relaxing walk through the bush; it was vastly different here in the rocky hills, compared to the flat plains all around.

There were beautiful old native trees, one with a funny shaped trunk - see pic above

There was also a peaceful, shaded water hole and a dry river bed, running through the beautiful rocky outcrops and bush land. No water at this time, but could hear water trickling down the rocks somewhere.

We were lucky to actually walk carefully through the bush to the site. They are in the process of building a boardwalk to protect the surrounding bush land against future damage.

We were nearly there, we could see the caves up ahead where the Aboriginal art - rock paintings were - see pic above.
