Black River -Townsville

DAY 140 Friday 8 June.

Black River. Woke up to sunshine after it had been raining for almost two weeks. Packed up and the three of us were off again.

Up the Bruce Highway to Bowen's Showground to the public dump point. When we opened the lid to the dump, there was a cute little frog living there. Quick easy dump - Please note - *No frogs or other small animals were harmed during this exercise.* lol.

While there, we met the man who provided all the cattle for the Baz Lurmann movie in Bowen.

Past Ayr, and then bypassed Townsville to the caravan park where we were going to stay. Along the way, we saw miles of ant hills everywhere on undisturbed land.Nice caravan park, lots of open space and fresh air. Also a Rodeo Stadium there.

All set up again and we drove into Townsville to have a quick look around before dark. Pizza for dinner and back to the caravan. It was dark by then and the cloudless sky was covered in bright sparkling stars.

DAY 141 Saturday 9 June.

Beautiful sunny cool morning. Most refreshing after the heat and humidity we had been having up North.

There was a very tame brown and white horse grazing alongside our caravan. Snowy didn't quite know what to make of it. She just sat there and watched it for ages. Snowy loves cows, but not sure about horses.

Sat outside in the still, quiet evening. The sky was streaked with pink and blue. Nice outside bbq for dinner, mixed grill- yummm.

Catching up on washing and computer stuff. Off exploring tomorrow maybe - if we feel like it.
