Australia Zoo

DAY 84 Wednesday 11 April continued

We saw Australia Zoo, where the famous Steve Irwin used to be before his untimely end.

His family and lovely wife and children are carrying on his grand plan for his beloved zoo and keeping his memory alive.

I hope they are coping ok and wish them well. There were so many tourist buses there - very busy place.

Australia Zoo is also the home of the famous Irwin crockodiles and the very old Galapagos Tortoise.

I don't like crocks, they stink bad from the rotting flesh caught in their teeth!! Ewwwwwwwww - CRICKEY!!!!

Australia Zoo has a really great web site, worth a look. It has a cute little green tree frog that blinks on it.

This zoo contains both Australian animals and exotic ones from overseas.

Then back to Gympie and our caravan park up the Bruce Highway. It was a full day and Tone Snowy and I had a jolly day out.

Went to Woolworths to get a few things in Gympie. It was a brand spanking new shopping complex, just opened.

Got back to the caravan park, and a kind lady next to us had taken in my washing off the line and folded it for me, as it had started to rain. That was really nice of her.

Have found on our travels, that people have been very friendly and willing to help, share experiences and have a jolly chat.

Some have been really interested in our 5th wheel and we have been happy to show them around, inside and out and answer any questions they have.

Others seem to find it quite amusing watching us hitch up and take off. Some of them have never seen a 5th wheel before. I always wave to them as we go past.

Some wave back, but others look away and pretend they haven't been watching - lol.
