Koonoomoo. Went into town to get some goodies for dinner tonight - having Tone's yummy
spaghetti bolognese.
Got some antipasto - salami, black olives, sundried tomatoes and marinated mushrooms. Also some Italian dipping bread to try, had not seen it before. Heavenly choc fudge icecreams for pudd.
Friends and dogs back from Forbes about 1600.
Had a few drinks sitting outside, and waited for it to get dark to see the COMET - Mc Naught - It was worth waiting, it was spectacular.
The actual comet was very bright with a huge tail. We went out the back near the lagoon, could see it better.
Also saw some falling stars - no clouds around, very clear night.
We had a fun dinner in the caravan. Tones spag bol was delicious.
They bought us some fresh eggs with a pink ribbon around for a house warming present - how original! it was great, and friend's hubby came dressed in T shirt and bow tie!
Had a fun night, we really enjoy their company.
During our stay, the four of us had lots of fun sitting out on their back verandah drinking, talking, laughing and watching the lovely sunsets.
Will miss it here in Koonoomoo.
DAY 8 Wednesday 24 January 07 WEEK 2
Koonomoo. Still sorting stuff out in and around the van.
Sewed some velcro onto the holes we made in the truck tarp. Not an easy task by hand let me tell you.
Did some grocery shopping.
Went to the golf club for dinner.
As we pulled into the carpark, there were people coming from all directions. Lots of people there, they seemed to come out of the woodwork!
Must have been the $7 meal night that was the attraction.
It was also meat raffle night. We each put in $10 worth of tickets and our hosts won a big meat tray! Go Guys!
Although cheap meal night, the food was very good.
Friends of our hosts dropped off a honeydew melon and some avacados from their farm " for the Melbourne visitors " - beautiful - thankyou - everything tastes so good and fresh.
Had another look at the comet, and off to bed.. Still visible, but not as bright tonight.
